From Earth to Home: Herbal Medicine-Making Essentials

From Earth to Home: Herbal Medicine-Making Essentials

Class description:

Herbal medicine is an medical approach developed over centuries, a gift from our ancestors, and one we can honor through understanding and practice. The plants are calling us to engage with them, to see them as medicine and allies in creating a harmonious life as part of nature.

Medicine making is both scientific and ancient.  It’s our traditional medicine, the gift from the land and a reminder that we can and must take care of one another to be well. Working with plant medicines looks different for everyone; this unique relationship crafted between plant, medicine maker, place, person is part of its medicine. This class is meant to be a place to begin that is accessible and easy to integrate in ways that work with your lifestyle and unique needs.

Participants will gain a basic grasp of:

  • Different herbal preparations

  • When and how different preparations might be used

  • Folk and scientific medicine making techniques for teas, tinctures, and decoctions

  • Where to source materials and further education.

Medicine is everywhere. It’s beautiful. It’s messy. It’s ready to meet you wherever life finds you.

Join us over Zoom as we share about medicine making essentials. Including harvesting herbs, making tinctures, vinegars, oxymels and much more in your kitchen.

Cost: Sliding scale $30-60

Class will be recorded and available for 30 days to watch if needed.
